Julana Shrum Named American Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior Julana Shrum has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week by conference officials for her outstanding offense last week.
Shrum played in all seven games as the designated player/pitcher and went 10-for-22, hitting .455. She belted five home runs including a pair during the 12-5 victory over Houston Baptist and followed with a grand slam in game two of the March 3 doubleheader. Over the week, Shrum batted in 14 runs and scored seven runs herself.
The Porum, Okla., native is now leading the Cougars with the highest slugging average (.861) and is the league leader with six home runs on the season.
With the help of Shrum, Houston finished the week 5-2, picking up its first shutout win of the season and is now 5-0 when scoring 10+ runs.
UP NEXT
Houston Softball returns to action when the Cougars travel to Denton, Texas, for midweek doubleheader against North Texas. Game one of the series is set for 4 p.m. with game two following 30-minutes after the end of the first game.

Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium parking garage with the first 30 minutes free of charge. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season softball home games with a valid student ID.
SINGLE-GAME TICKETS ON SALE NOW
Fans can purchase general admission single-game tickets beginning as low as $5 for youth and $8 for adults through UHCougars.com or by contacting the Houston Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647).
While single-game tickets are available, fans are encouraged to save and purchase 2015 season tickets. General admission season tickets are just $75 for 28 home games ($2.68 per ticket).
