HOUSTON - With the season in full motion, Houston Softball is excited to announce the promotional nights for the months of March and April.
We're taking it back to the neon colors and flashy hair on Tuesday, March 3, for 80's Night when the Cougars host crosstown rival Houston Baptist. The first 250 fans through the gates will receive Neon Red Sunglasses.
As Houston Softball opens conference play, the Cougars will honor our military for the Salute to Service Night on March 21. Active duty military and veterans will receive free admission at the gate with an ID. A special guest will be on hand to throw out the first pitch. The first 250 fans into the stadium will receive a rally towel. More special promotions for this prestigious night will be announced at a later date.
On March 25, Houston hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a doubleheader that is slated for Los Coogs Night. The first 250 fans in the gates will get a 'Los Coogs' Rollabanner.
Come early, be loud and wear pink on April 1 as the Cougars host in-state foe Texas for the ninth annual Striking Out Breast Cancer game presented by Wells Fargo. The first 1,500 fans will receive a pink t-shirt. Also, Houston Softball will be auctioning off memorabilia with the proceeds going to the Houston Susan G. Komen.
Friday, April 3 is scheduled as the Houston Athletics' Staff Appreciation Day. Fans can stick around after the doubleheader to watch some of the Athletics staff members try to hit a home run off Head Coach Kyla Holas for the annual Staff Home Run Derby.
On Saturday, April 4, bring your furry, four-legged friends for Houston Softball's Bark In The Park. All dogs must be on a leach, up on vaccines and well-behaved.
April 18 is Senior Day where Houston Softball will honor its seven seniors: Kris Davila, Jaime Edwards, Summer Groholski, Sydney Gerbracht, Tiffani McKnight, Kayla Holland and Alexis Dunn.
The following afternoon is the March of Dimes game. The Cougars will sport purple accessories during the game in honor of the March of Dimes foundation.
We're going to party like its 1999 as Houston Softball welcomes Lamar for the home finale on April 29 for 90's Night. The first 250 fans in the gates received a Red 'Go Coogs' Slap Bracelet.
Be sure to stop by the Cougar softball stadium throughout February and score some big giveaways while cheering on your Houston Cougar softball team.
