HOUSTON - Errors plagued Houston Softball's defense as the Cougars fell to in-state rival Stephen F. Austin, 5-1, during the final game of the Hilton Houston Plaza Invitational.

Houston finished 3-2 on the weekend and falls to 6-6 on the season while SFA improves to 4-6.

Both teams were scoreless after six innings until Courtney Klingler belted a solo home run over the centerfield wall. The hit marks the second home run for the Cougars in Cougar Softball Stadium and the second for Klingler.

The Lady Jacks responded with a five-run rally in the top of the seventh inning. SFA knocked a single up the middle to lead off the inning and followed with three hits, two base on balls and an error by starting pitcher Kayla Maxwell.

Maxwell (2-1) takes the loss for the Cougars, her first of the season. In 6.1 innings she allowed four earned runs, five hits while striking out three. Reliever Summer Groholski pitched 0.2 innings and allowed two hits.

All UH main campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season softball home games with a valid student ID.

Fans can purchase general admission single-game tickets beginning as low as $5 for youth and $8 for adults through UHCougars.com or by contacting the Houston Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS (462-6647).

While single-game tickets are available, fans are encouraged to save and purchase 2015 season tickets. General admission season tickets are just $75 for 28 home games ($2.68 per ticket).
