Two Named All-American Athletic Conference Teams

PROVIDENCE, R.I. â€" Freshman hitter Brookah Palmer and senior libero Olivia O'Dell have been named to the All-American Athletic Conference Teams for their outstanding seasons during conference play.
Palmer was a unanimous selection for the All-Conference First Team becoming the first freshman Cougars to be named to the first team and only the second cougar in three years to accomplish this feat.
The freshman was the third best hitter in the league. She tallied 285 digs in 71 sets played, averaging 4.01 kills per set. Palmer also led the conference with 30 service aces (0.42 aces per set) and was the top scorer with 4.62 points per set.
This season, Palmer was named the American Offensive Player of the Week twice including the first week of the year. She was named to three all-tournament teams and was the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic MVP during tourney play and claimed two honor roll spots.
O'Dell was selected to the All-Conference Second Team. She ranked second in digs behind Libero of the Year winner Morgan Heise (SMU) with 5.58 digs per set during conference play.
The Rowlett, Texas, native broke into the school records book this season. She broke the single-season dig record with 701 digs. O'Dell also broke two individual match records including the most digs in a five-set match (47 digs at Tulane, Oct. 7) and the most digs in a three-set match (32 digs vs. Cincinnati, Oct. 18).
O'Dell's top performance in a three-set match leads the NCAA national statistical rankings while her five-set digs performance ranks second in the NCAA. Her season digs total of 701 ranks third in the NCAA and her digs per set (5.70) this season ranks in the top 10 in the country.
O'Dell earned eight weekly conference awards including the American Defensive Player of the Week four times and weekly honor roll four times this season.
