Volleyball Defeated by Cincinnati, 3-1

CINCINNATI, Ohio â€" Three Cougars record double-digit kills but that wasn't enough as Houston Volleyball fell in four sets (20-25, 25-20, 17-25, 21-25) to Cincinnati on Wednesday night.
The Cougars drop to 19-12 on the year, 9-10 in the American Athletic Conference while Cincinnati improved to 20-10, 12-7 in the league.
Houston narrowly dropped set one to the home squad before battling back to tie up the match, 1-1, before the half with a 25-20 win in set two.
After intermission, Cincinnati came out to take the match with two straight sets.
Junior transfer Claire McCown led the Cougars with 13 kills, hitting .275 against the Bearcats defense. Hunter Wise followed with 12 kills of her own while redshirt freshman Chenelle Walker posted 10 kills for her fourth straight double-digit kill match.
Senior libero Olivia O'Dell added to her season total with 18 digs on the night. She now has 673 digs on the season and is 18 digs shy of moving into second all time.
