Kickin' It With Brascia And Weaver

This past week was uneventful, since our game against North Texas was canceled because of the storm that came in. Practice was light going into the game, and we played a fun juggling game. Kelsey Thein was too aggressive during the game, and kept hurting all of my group. She's a feisty one.
Our team was excited for the football game. It was a blast! Seeing the completed new stadium was exciting; especially the sea of red that filled the seats. Our team signed autographs before the game, and it was a good opportunity to meet some of our younger fans. Some of our teammates got their faces painted like the younger kids at the game.
Since our game Friday was canceled, we had an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night. The weather was really nice, because coach moved practice to later in the evening from 6-8 p.m. Both teams had great opportunities and started to keep the ball more in the attacking third and score more goals. This has been a problem with our team for the past couple years, and this week we worked a lot on going to goal and finishing. It is definitely helping. Thanks a heap coach.
Sunday, we had a much appreciated day off. It was nice to not have to worry about soccer for the day and worry about our top priority: school. This also included lots of Netflix breaks and napping.
Shout out to the campus café for making good coffee, and giving us a cool (both literally and figuratively) place to study and hang out. The chocolate biscotti is AMAZING!!
Also, shout out to our trainer Wafaa Chatila for always having the locker room stocked. She just turned 22 on Sunday! Our whole team really appreciates you dealing with all the minor tweaks and tears throughout the past couples of weeks during preseason. Our team would never be able to do this without you!
Signing off until next week after we play Georgia and Mercer.
GO COOGS!
