"This is great for Meghan Brascia," head coach Chris Pfau said. "It has been great to see her develop not only into a great player, but a leader on this team. She has tremendous talent, and to see her play at this level from the beginning of the season has been fun to watch."
Brascia's goal came off a strike on a free kick from outside the box late in the first half, which helped the Cougars swing the momentum and get back into the match. Brascia currently has three points for the Cougars this season (one goal and one assist).
Brascia's award marks consecutive weeks in which the Cougars have had a player named to the honor roll. Freshman Georgi Dolence took home the same award for Houston after her first career goal against Louisiana-Lafayette.
