Houston Hits Road For Match In Louisiana

HOUSTON - The Houston Cougar soccer team will travel east for a one-game road trip to face the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in Lafayette, La.
The Cougars own the series lead with an 8-1-0 record against the Ragin' Cajuns with the program's only loss coming on a 1-0 decision at home in 2001. Houston has won seven straight matches in the series and are 2-0 all time in Lafayette with the last victory coming on Aug. 31, 2012 (2-1).
Houston is fresh off a pair of 1-1 draws against Houston Baptist and Utah State in which junior Lexa Green scored both goals for the Cougars. Green is now tied for the team lead in goals (2) and leads the team in points (5). Freshman Georgi Dolence and junior Meghan Brascia picked up their first assists of the season and junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown notched 11 saves on the weekend.
ABOUT LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns own a 4-3-0 (3-0 at home) record coming into the game and split their recent weekend series with Louisiana Tech (L, 2-0) and Lamar (W, 7-2). Freshman forward Danielle DeRosa leads Louisiana in goals (5) and points (12) and is tied for the team lead in assists with two. DeRosa has also claimed two of the team's four game-winning goals.
Redshirt freshman Alexias Stricklin has seen the majority of the time in goal for the Ragin' Cajuns in 2014. Stricklin has earned the decision (4-3) in each game this season, and has 32 saves on 44 shots on goal.
