UH Alum Michael Bloesch Named to Football Staff

HOUSTON - University of Houston Head Football Coach Tony Levine named former UH offensive lineman Michael Bloesch to his staff Monday as a Football Analyst. A member of the Houston program from 2005-08, Bloesch joins the Cougars' coaching staff after serving the last three seasons as Offensive Coordinator at Temple High School in Temple, Texas.
In the Football Analyst role, Bloesch will be responsible for providing analytical support for the Houston coaching staff including video breakdown, self and opponent scouting and game day support.
He is the second Houston letterwinner to recently join the football staff, joining former linebacker Marcus McGraw who was named the Associate Director of Football Operations on April 2.
Bloesch started 37 consecutive games at offensive guard for UH from 2006-08 while helping lead the Cougars to their first bowl victory in 28 years. A member of the Dean's List while at Houston, Bloesch earned Conference USA Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in 2007 and 2008 and was named to Phil Steele's All-Conference USA second team in 2008.
Following the completion of his playing career at Houston, Bloesch began his coaching career as an offensive line coach at Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas, where he also served as an assistant coach for the school's Track and Field and Powerlifting programs. In Bloesch's two years on staff, Cooper captured the District 4-4A championship in 2009 and District 3-5A championship in 2010. Cooper had a combined record of 20-6 in Bloesch's two seasons while setting school records for most points in a season (528) and most offensive yards in a season (6,040) in 2010.
Bloesch moved to Temple High School where he served as Offensive Coordinator while overseeing the program's offensive line. In addition to his football duties, Bloesch served as the school's Powerlifting head coach, Middle School Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator.
In his three seasons with the Wildcats, Bloesch helped the program to a record of 19-13, capturing the District 8-5A championship in 2013 while averaging 44 points and 512 offensive yards per game.
Bloesch received a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology-Sports Administration from the University of Houston and a Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University in 2013.
A native of Spring, Texas, Bloesch graduated from Klein Collins High School in 2004.
2014 FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS

Houston opens the 2014 season at 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, when it hosts UTSA in the first ever game in the Houston Football Stadium.
