PALM COAST, Fla. - After 10 regular-season events, the University of Houston Women's Golf program begins its first postseason competition when it tees off at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championships on Sunday morning.
The tournament begins with 7 a.m. (CDT) starts off No. 1 each day on the 6,235-yard, par-72 Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort. For Sunday's First Round, the Cougars will tee off from 8:10 to 8:30 a.m. (CDT).
Houston will compete against Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, Rutgers, UCF, USF and SMU. Fans can follow live scoring by visiting Golfstat.com and following the appropriate links or by clicking here.
With only three student-athletes competing as individuals, the Cougars will not be eligible for the team championship. Houston Women's Golf, which is in its first year of existence in 2013-14, will field a complete team for the 2014-15 season.
THE LINEUP
Junior Courtney Ferguson, sophomore Raegan Bremer and freshman Emily Gilbreth will represent the Cougars in the first American Athletic Conference Championships for head coach Gerrod Chadwell and assistant coach Mary Michael Maggio.
Bremer has been the Cougars' steadiest player in her first season at Houston. A transfer from UC Davis, she leads the team with a 74.69 scoring average and eight rounds of par or better.

The Anaheim, Calif., native etched her name in the Houston records book after winning the HBU Husky Invitational individual title with a score of 221 at Sugar Land's Riverbend Country Club. This season, she has posted three top-10 finishes and was twice named the league's Golfer of the Week.
Ferguson is the elder stateswoman of the group after transferring from Oklahoma State. The Clear Lake, Texas, native has competed in nine tournaments this season and enjoyed five rounds of par or better. Ferguson also posted the Cougars' lowest 54-hole score in 2013-14, recording a 3-under-par 213 at the Central District Invitational on Feb. 17-18 to open the spring season.
Gilbreth is completing her first collegiate season as a freshman. In 2013-14, she has compiled a pair of top-20 showings, including a 12th-place finish at the Sam Houston State/Harold Funston Invitational on Oct. 7-8, 2013, during the fall finale.
The Cougars enter this weekend's event after competing at the Dallas Athletic Club/SMU Invitational on April 4-6. At that rain-shortened event, Bremer tied for seventh on the way to her second straight Golfer of the Week honor, while Ferguson surged into the top-20 leaders with a Second-Round 72.
