Kendra Cullum Named Player of the Week

HOUSTON - Seniors Kendra Cullum, Diedre and Haley Outon all earned weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference following Houston's sweep over Louisville and 6-0 start to conference action. Cullum earned top billing taking home Player of the Week accolades with the Outons earning Honor Roll status.
Cullum went 5-for-10 and filled up the stat sheet over the three-game weekend stretch. The Conroe, Texas, native scored twice, drove in three runs, stole four bases and was hit by two pitches.
Diedre turned in an all-around solid effort for the Cougars in their second-straight conference sweep. The senior threw for a pair of wins to improve her record to 9-5 on the year and hit two home runs on Sunday.
Haley made the most of her one hit over the weekend by delivering her fourth career grand slam against Louisville in Houston's 6-5 win. She also added an RBI in the game and leads the conference with her total of 26.
Houston went 3-0 over the weekend sweeping preseason-favorite Louisville with scores of 6-5, 4-0 and 8-5.
This is the first weekly conference award in Cullum's career and Houston's second of the season (Haley Outon, Feb. 24).
