HOUSTON - Houston head football coach Tony Levine announced Monday the promotion of Tory Teykl to Director of Football Operations. Teykl spent the 2013 season as the program's Associate Director of Football Operations, her first as a member of the UH football staff after spending four years in the Houston Athletics Marketing Department.
The Rosenberg, Texas, native was heavily involved in all aspects of the program's operations this past season, and led all operational efforts in Houston's visit to the 2014 BBVA Compass Bowl.
"Tory is extremely detailed and organized, and did an outstanding job this past year as a member of our staff," added Levine. "She is very hardworking and loyal, and has been a major asset to our program."
Prior to her start at UH, Teykl spent the 2008 season as a student-assistant in the Texas A&M football program before working for the Convention and Visitors Bureau for the city of College Station where she was a Sports Assistant. Her major contributions included the planning and implementation of the state of Texas Seven-On-Seven Football Championship and the creation of the Tournament program.
Teykl comes from a football family as the daughter of Tim Teykl, the head coach of B.F. Terry High School since 1992 and a member of the board of directors for the Texas 7-on-7 Association, the Texas High School Coaches Association and the past President of the Greater Houston Football Coaches Association.
Teykl replaces Chris Pezman, who accepted the Associate AD for Facilities, Operations and Event Management position at the University of California.
