Houston Volleyball Adds Shelby Harper to 2015 Roster

HOUSTON - Head Coach Kaddie Platt and the University of Houston Volleyball program announced Friday the addition of Division I transfer Shelby Harper (Arkansas) will join the Cougars this spring.
Harper is a 6'-2" middle blocker/right side hitter that hails from Corpus Christi, Texas. She joins the Cougars after playing her freshman season at Arkansas.
"We are excited about adding Shelby to the program this spring," Platt said. "She brings a high level of experience and it will be great having her in the gym this spring.
"Shelby is a dynamic and versatile player who can play any front row position. She is a competitor who wants to be her best. I believe she has the drive to be a big contributor to our program's success."

PRIOR TO HOUSTON
Played Division I volleyball for Robert Pulliza at The University of Arkansas... Saw action in 25 sets during the 2014 season... Tallied 28 kills, one assist, one service ace, eight digs and 18 blocks.
HIGH SCHOOL
Two-time All-District 31-4A First Team for Flour Bluff High School... Guided team to the District 31-4A title for the second consecutive year in 2013... Also helped team to Class 4A area final... Earned district and All-South Texas Volleyball MVP accolades following her junior season in which she totaled 411 kills... Led her team to the Class 4A regional semifinals in 2012... Played club for Houston Stellar... Earned a spot on all-district academic first team.
