HOUSTON - The University of Houston volleyball program kicked off its first practice of the season Saturday morning at an off-campus location.
Due to the Mayor's Back To School Fest taking place in the Athletics/Alumni Center, head coach Kaddie Platt scheduled the first practice of the year at The Zone, a sports and entertainment complex off Stella Link Road in Southwest Houston.
Head coach Kaddie Platt and the rest of the coaching staff focused on drills and footwork for most of the morning practice.
"We focused a lot on the fundamentals this morning," Platt said. "The girls did a good job of staying focused through the small stuff."
The team continues preseason two-a-days Sunday and Monday back on campus.
ON THE SIX NEWCOMERS
"The newcomers did very well this morning. They are very receptive to being coached and attentive to details," Platt said.
