HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis program has announced the addition of two final regular-season matches to be played at John E. Hoff Courts prior to hosting the 2013 Conference USA Championship on April 18-21.
The Cougars will play host to No. 49 Arkansas at 1 p.m., on Sunday and close out the regular season against Prairie View A&M at 4 p.m., on Monday where seniors Maja Kazimieruk and Bryony Hunter will be honored.
Kazimieruk has enjoyed a stellar senior campaign, combining for a 31-7 mark in singles and doubles play during dual action this spring. Kazimieruk has notched a team-best 16-3 record in dual singles play, primarily at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, while teaming up with Celia Fraser for a 14-2 mark in doubles action this spring as the duo is currently riding a 13-match winning streak.
Kazimieruk, a four-year letterwinner from Poznan, Poland, has compiled a career singles record of 87-43 (.669), which ranks 10th all-time in school history for singles victories, and is 55-22 (.714) in four seasons of dual singles play.
Hunter posted an impressive career at Houston before being sidelined for her final season due to injury. The Harlow, U.K., native, who earned a combined record of 84-59 in three seasons, was 33-17 in her career in dual singles play primarily at the top two positions, and earned Third-Team All-C-USA honors as a freshman after going 13-6 at the No. 1 spot.
Hunter was just as consistent in doubles play, ranking eighth all-time in school history with 27 victories with partner Giorgia Pozzan.
