HOUSTON -
After playing only two home matches over the last 11 contests, the University of Houston women's tennis team will play host to Western Michigan in the first of five-straight home matches at 11 a.m., on Friday at John E. Hoff Courts. The start time was recently moved up to 11 a.m., from its original schedule of 2 p.m.
The Cougars (10-5) will look for their third win in the last four matches on Friday after splitting a pair of road contests earlier this week against Manhattan and Rutgers. Houston posted its third shutout of the season on Tuesday against Manhattan while suffering a 4-3 setback to Rutgers on Wednesday, marking the fourth time in five overall losses by just a point.
Senior Maja Kazimieruk has continued her stellar play this season, winning both matches this week to improve to 13-2 in singles play, while sophomore Elena Kordolaimi (10-5) and freshman Rocio Martin Fernandez (10-4) have also reached the double-figure wins mark.
Fans are encouraged to park in lot 15H, located between the tennis courts and softball complex.
