EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Houston football won 49-14 over Rutgers on Saturday afternoon to improve to 6-1 on the year and 3-0 in The American.
The Cougar defense forced a season-high six turnovers leading to 28 points converted in the performance. Houston held Rutgers (4-3, 1-2) scoreless the final 37:03 to become bowl eligible for the seventh time in the past nine years.
