Notes: The season officially tips off with the start of practice at 5 p.m., Oct. 12, in Hofheinz Pavilion. Prior to that, head coach James Dickey will take part in Conference USA Media Day on Oct. 9, in Irving, Texas.

This Week: Houston is off this week with its lone bye week of the season. The Cougars return to action on Sept. 29 vs. Rice in the Bayou Bucket to be held at Reliant Stadium.
Notes: The Bayou Bucket Lunch has been set for Sept. 27 at the Bayou City Event Center, tickets can be purchased by contacting the Houston Touchdown Club ... Student tickets for the Bayou Bucket go on sale on Tuesday, Sept. 18 for just $10 ... General Bayou Bucket tickets are currently for sale through the Houston Athletics Ticket Office and begin at just $20.

This Week: The Cougars leave Saturday to compete at the Shoal Creek Invitational on Sept. 24-25 at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Birmingham, Ala.

This Week: Houston will open conference play by hosting SMU in Robertson Stadium at 7 p.m., Friday. Following that match-up, the Cougars will face off with Tulsa at home at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Notes: The Cougars are 4-1-1 opening conference play at home.

This Week: The Cougars return to action on Friday for the third of 11 fall tournaments when they travel to Austin for the Longhorn Invitational.

This Week: Houston opens C-USA play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rice. The Cougars will continue their three-game road stretch at UAB on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. match on Sunday at Memphis.
Notes: Houston took time out of hosting the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup to host an hour-long clinic for local children on Saturday afternoon in the Athletics/Alumni Center ... The clinic was held in between the Cougars' two matches as they worked with children on basic volleyball skills, while showing what Houston Volleyball is all about as a program.
