Houston improved to 4-0 for the seventh time in school history and the first time since 2006.
Keenum, who was 29-of-34 on the night, led the offense to touchdowns on five of seven first-half drives to take a 35-0 lead into the half.
Keenum passed former BYU quarterback Ty Detmer for third on the NCAA all-time passing list with 15,120 yards, while surpassing Texas Tech's Graham Harrell and Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour for second in NCAA history in career total offense with 16,000 total yards.
The Houston ground attack also enjoyed a productive evening, accounting for five scores and 171 yards rushing. Bryce Beall led the Cougars with two touchdowns, while Charles Sims, Michael Hayes and Braxton Welford also added scores.
The Cougars finished the contest with 732 yards of total offense, Houston's highest offensive output since posting 750 yards during a 50-43 win against Southern Miss on Oct. 31, 2009.
The UH defense stifled the Panthers all contest, holding its opponent scoreless for the first shutout since a
45-0 win against Louisiana-Lafayette on Sept. 18, 1999.

The defense, which held Georgia State to 241 total yards, forced seven three-and-outs and 10 punts. Georgia State threatened late in the third quarter before Marcus McGraw intercepted a pass inside the Houston 10-yard line to keep the shutout intact.
Fourteen different Cougars caught a pass on Saturday, led by senior Justin Johnson, who hauled in six catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cougars look to remain perfect with a road tilt at UTEP on Thursday at 7 p.m. CST in El Paso, Texas.
