Send Off Party Scheduled for Houston Softball

HOUSTON - Fans, staff and friends of the University of Houston softball team are invited to come out and wish the Cougars well as they depart for the NCAA Tournament, Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
The Cougars will load the bus and depart for Austin, Texas in the campus police department parking lot (3869 Wheeler), located on the corner of Scott Street and Wheeler Street. Those wishing to send the Cougars off with their well wishes and support are asked to join the team in the lot between 9:15-9:30 a.m.
From there, Houston (40-16) will travel to the NCAA Austin Regional hosted by the University of Texas to face Louisiana-Lafayette, Friday at 4 p.m. CT at McCombs Field.
The Cougars are heading to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2008 season, when they played host to a Regional and Super Regional. After claiming the NCAA Regional Championship, Houston was just one win shy of a Super Regional title and the team's first berth into the Women's College World Series.
