Track and Field Completes Day One of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Houston wrapped up their first day of competition at the 117th Penn Relays in Philadelphia amidst rain relays Thursday night.
Wesley Ruttoh continued his domination in the 3000m steeplechase as he was just off his personal best time to finish second in 8:53.91.
The women's 4x100m relay team advanced to the Friday finals at 1 p.m. by finishing fourth in 44.41.
The other women's relay team, the 4x400m team, took 13th and will compete in the collegiate championships on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Their time was the third fastest of the season for the Cougars.
Kiara Pulliam took sixth in the shot put with her toss of 14.06m/46-1.5.
Megan Frausto and Tai'Shea Reese turned in a pair of seventh place finishes in the high and long jump, respectively.
