Cougars Compete at Rice Twilight

HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field team concluded a double-duty weekend as many of the Cougars remained in Houston to compete at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight meet at Rice University. 12 Cougars improved upon their personal best marks.
Jason Perez (52.27) won the 400m hurdles as Leon Bullock (53.43) took fourth place.
Kathryn Ducommun set a personal best (11:00.71) in the steeplechase to earn second.
Andre Santaolalla also set a personal best time (9:27.77) in the obstacle course to earn third.
In the 5000m, the Cougars took the top two spots as Starla Garcia won the race in her top career time of 18:02.26. Megan Munoz (18:19.24) finished second and Julie Reinwald (18:57.12) set a personal best to place seventh.
UP NEXT
The Cougars travel to Philadelphia, Penn. Wednesday through Saturday for the 117th Penn Relays at historical Franklin Field hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
