Houston joins East Carolina, Marshall, Memphis, Rice, SMU, Southern Miss, Tulsa, UAB, UCF and UTEP on the 6,935-yard, par-72 course at Texarkana Country Club.
The Cougars finished seventh at the C-USA Championships a year ago at RedTail Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
This will be the third time in school history that the Cougars have competed at Texarkana Country Club. Houston finished fifth and sixth at the 2007 and 2008 Championships, respectively.
THE LINEUP
The Cougars will return to their regular lineup when they tee off Sunday morning. That lineup, which consists of sophomore transfer Will Dusenbury and freshmen Curtis Reed, Jesse Droemer, Bryn Flanagan and Wesley McClain, has been used in five of the last six spring tournaments.
Dusenbury sat out the regular-season-ending Jim West Intercollegiate after competing in four fall tournaments at Dallas Baptist before transferring to Houston. The League City, Texas, native leads the team with a 73.94 scoring average and fired a team-season-low 68 at the Desert Shootout on March 17-19.
Droemer leads the team with 11 rounds of par or better and is a close third on the team with a 74.07 average. Reed stands second on the team with a 74.00 average and 10 rounds of par or better and has twice fired 68s this season.
McClain is tied for second with 10 rounds of par or better.
LAST TIME OUT
Entering the C-USA Championships, the Cougars look to bounce back from back-to-back tough finishes in their last two events. Houston finished 11th at the Jim West Intercollegiate on April 24-26 at Victoria Country Club.
Prior to that, the Cougars finished15th at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational on April 2-3.
