HEAD COACH Todd Buchanan
Thoughts on the game
"Word can't describe how good this feels. These kids have worked so hard from day one and for us to be 16-0 and obviously having to weather an incredibly talented and very good Tulane team, words just can't describe how much this means."
On what the win means to him
"For my staff to have tears in their eyes, and these kids to have tears of joy in their eyes, it means everything in the world to me. These fans were incredible today. I felt like if we got them pumped up and behind us, there was no way we were going to lose the game, and it happened that way fortunately."
On the senior's performances
"They're incredible, not just as basketball players but as student-athletes. Three of them already have their undergraduate's degrees, and I couldn't be more proud of that. Courtney had 24 today Brittney Scott had 28. I told them no regrets, no excuses."
On the challenge Tulane presented
"Incredible challenge. We were struggling to guard them. I give them a lot of credit. Today when we needed stops, we got it done."
On Jasmine Johnson's defensive effort
"An incredible, phenomenal, whatever attribute you want to use to find the heart to get stops."
On trying to fire up the crowd during the game
"It's an emotional game and I'm an emotional person. I felt like there was a point in time where if we could get over the hump and they (the crowd) could get behind us and really be that sixth man, then we had a really good shot of pulling this thing off. It took an extra five minutes but I'll take it."
On the determination of his team
"It's an old cliché but it comes full circle; they refuse to lose. How ironic and how perfect that the five seniors finish it and get it done on the floor today."
On Jasmine Johnson's big three-pointer
"We talked about it. We called a set play that was really for Brittney Scott. Brittney Scott makes the extra pass which we've done a good job of most of the year. Jasmine hits the big shot just like she did in Vegas."
SENIOR FORWARD Courtney Taylor
On how it feels to be 16-0
"It feels great, and I'm just glad we reached another one of our goals this season."
On being able to celebrate
"Now we can celebrate and enjoy the moment. We didn't want to celebrate too early and not carry it out. For a Houston team to go 16-0, it's a great accomplishment and I'm proud of our girls."
SENIOR GUARD Brittney Scott
On the emotions of going 16-0 on senior day
"We upset Rice on senior night, and we didn't want to have that feeling, so it feels great to go out with a bang like this."
SENIOR GUARD Jasmine Johnson
On being nervous coming off the bench
"I wasn't nervous, I just played like it was any other game and came in and played my role and took care of the ball."
