GENERAL NCAA TOURNAMENT NOTES
Houston made its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance and its first since 2005.
West Virginia leads the all-time series 3-0. Sunday's game was the first time the two teams had met since Nov. 30, 2006, in Morgantown, W.Va., and the first on a neutral court.
HOUSTON NOTES
Houston is 1-5 all-time in five NCAA Tournament appearances.
Houston concluded its 2010-11 season with a 26-6 record.
Houston's 26 wins are tied for the second-most in school history; the Cougars also won 26 games during the 1977-78 and 2001-02 seasons (school record is 28 in 2003-04).
Senior forward Courtney Taylor passed Vickey Finch (1979-83) for fourth place on Houston's all-time scoring list... Taylor now has 1,684 career points.
Senior guard Brittney Scott became the seventh player in school history to eclipse the career 1,500-point plateau. Scott ranks seventh all-time in Houston history with 1,522 career points.
With 17 points and 10 rebounds, senior F Lesslee Mason recorded her 10th double-double of the season and the 16th of her career... It was Mason's third straight double-double to end the season and her career.
