HOUSTON - The University of Houston baseball team is off to the best start in program history since 1993 after winning the first four games of the 2011 season and will look to improve that record this weekend when they play host to Ole Miss at Cougar Field.
The series kicks off Friday at 6:30 p.m., continues at 7 p.m. Saturday and concludes at 1 p.m. Sunday. Fans can hear all of the weekend's game action live on UHCougars.com and livestats will also be available via the internet by clicking on the Gametracker link on the baseball schedule page. A live video stream of the game is available on the All Access page of the Houston website.
With Friday's series opener it marks the third meeting all-time between Houston and Ole Miss. The Rebels lead the overall series 2-0, including a 12-3 win at Cougar Field in 1992. The first 100 UH students to arrive at the game on Friday will receive a free t-shirt.
Fans attending Saturday's contest can purchase a ticket to the game for only $5 with a ticket stub from the UAB men's basketball game. The Houston Baseball 4-Pack is also still available. For $48 you will receive four tickets, four drinks, four hot dogs and four hats. This ticket package will not be available to purchase on game day.
Fans are invited to bring their families out early for Sunday's finale. The Kid's Zone will be set up where inflatable games and activities will be available for kids to play in prior to the game. They will also get to run the bases and get autographs after the game.
