Baseball Announces 2011 TV Schedule

HOUSTON - The Conference USA office announced Wednesday that the University of Houston baseball team will have their five regular-season games against cross-town rival Rice broadcast on Comcast Sports Southwest (Channel 129) during the 2011 season.
The five games are part of the annual Silver Glove Series. With these games being televised the spotlight on this rivalry will continue to shine. The series dates back to 1948, with Rice holding a 91-66 series lead. The Cougars are 50-26 at Cougar Field all-time against the Owls.
Two games in the five-game series will be played at Rice's Reckling Park. The first contest, a mid-week match-up, will start at 6:30 p.m. on March 23. The series will continue on March 29 at 6:30 p.m., with the game only airing in the Houston market.
The three-game Conference USA series at Cougar Field will close out the Silver Glove Series. The first game will start at 6:30 p.m., May 6 and will continue at 3 p.m., May 7. Fans should note the start time of the second game has changed from the previously released 6:30 p.m. start. The series will then conclude at 1 p.m., May 8.
Tickets are still available for the games at Cougar Field starting at $12 for general admission and $15 for reserved seating. Tickets are available by logging on to UHCougars.com and going to the ticket page, by calling the Houston Athletic Ticket Office at (713) GO-COOGS (462-6647) or by going to the Ticket Office in the Athletics/Alumni Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Cougars' April 29 contest at UCF will also air in the Orlando area on the Bright House Sports Network.
The Cougars open the 2011 season this weekend against UT-Arlington at Cougar Field. First pitch will be thrown out at 6:30 p.m., Friday. The series will continue at 6:30 p.m., Saturday and conclude at 1 p.m., Sunday.
