HOUSTON - The University of Houston tennis team continues its five-match homestand this weekend at John E. Hoff Courts with matches against UT-Pan American, Texas State and Conference USA rival UTEP.
The Cougars kick off play against UTPA at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 2:00 p.m. match on Saturday against Texas State and an 11:00 a.m. start against UTEP on Sunday.
This weekend will mark the last time fans can come out and support the Cougars for over a month, as Houston will embark on a nine-match road swing.
Houston (3-2) split two home matches last weekend, falling to No. 48 Rice before posting a 5-2 victory over Sam Houston State.
Joanna Kacprzyk and Giorgia Pozzan have paced the Cougars in singles play with 3-1 records this spring, while freshman Jo Garvey has won three of the last four matches to improve to 3-2.
The newcomer duo of Garvey and Dionne Sanders have teamed up for a 2-1 doubles record, while Pozzan and Bryony Hunter have also posted a 2-1 mark at the top position.
