HOUSTON - HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's soccer team drops a 1-0 decision to SMU Sunday at Westcott Field. Kenzie Scovill scored the game's lone goal to give the Mustangs the victory.
Scovill scored the game-winning goal in the 19th minute, giving SMU the 1-0 advantage. Houston was unable to respond to the score, as they were only able to register two shots on goal.
The Cougars' defense buckled down following the early score. In the second half, Houston held SMU scoreless, allowing only three shots on goal.
"We played well in the second half," head coach Susan Bush said. "We have to stay focused for 90 minutes."
Houston keeper Cami Koski registered eight saves during the match. Koski faced 17 shots, nine of which were on frame, allowing one goal.
