On his thoughts as UCF attempted to tie the game on the final shot
"'Please don't go in, please don't go in'. (Gevenia Carter) had an incredible game and I give a lot of credit to Joi Williams and her staff. They're very good and very talented, and we're extremely fortunate to get out of here with a win, but I'll certainly take it. We just have to learn from this, and thank goodness we get to learn through a winning experience."
On the seniors stepping up at the end of the game
"No question, they stepped up. Courtney (Taylor) showed why she's the reigning conference player of the year, and it's no different for Brittney Scott, being named first-team in the preseason. They're very talented players and I'm blessed to get to coach them.
On the game being too close for comfort
"No question, it was too close. We just have to do so many things better. We didn't handle the on-ball screen very well tonight, and we've handled it with very little problem all season. I give UCF a lot of credit and we'll go back to the drawing board and try to get everyone ready for a very good and very hungry SMU team on Sunday."
