Houston Tennis Travels to Face Centenary, Grambling State

HOUSTON - The University of Houston tennis team travels to Louisiana this weekend to face Centenary on Friday and Grambling State on Saturday. Both matches begin at 11:00 a.m. CT.
The Cougars opened the season on Jan. 21 with a 6-1 loss to third-ranked Baylor in Waco, Texas. Joanna Kacprzyk highlighted action with two victories, including the lone singles win at the No. 5 position over Baylor's Abby Stainback.
Kacprzyk teamed up with Maja Kazimieruk in doubles play to outlast the Baylor tandem of Stainback and Bara by a score of 8-7(6). The Cougar duo began the match trailing 4-0, and after pulling even at four points apiece, was down 7-6 before rallying to take the contest.
After this weekend's action, the Cougars open a six-match homestand against St. Edward's on Feb. 4.
