Houston Concludes Regular Season with Nine First-Place Finishes

HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field team concluded the regular season at the Rice Field and Track Meet Thursday evening, picking up nine first-place finishes and setting 15 personal records.
Tara Prier began the day in first place in the women's 100m dash, clocking 12.05. On the men's side, Errol Nolan and Isaiah Sweeney finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 100m dash.
Chris Carter took the long jump crown, leaping for a distance of 7.23m (23-08.75), while Alaysha Ford took gold in the triple jump event, jumping a distance of 11.80m (38-08.75).
Alysha Cook took top honors in the 100m hurdles, clocking 14.28, while her counterpart on the men's side, Cameron LaCour, took home the silver medal, crossing the line at a time of 14.32.
Finishing in first for the second time this season and setting a personal best was Karley King in the pole vault event. King vaulted a height of 3.77m (12-04.50). Bryan Brown took second while setting a personal record in the pole vault with a height of 5.07m (16-07.50).
Erica Hannemann was victorious in the 2,000m steeplechase event, running a time of 7:27.52.
Whitney Harris placed herself into the top-three in Conference USA while winning the 400m, touching the line in 54.82.
Kiera Pulliam took the shot put crown, tossing for a distance of 14.52m (47-07.75).
The final victory for the Cougars came by way of the javelin throw, as Brittani Williams recorded a distance of 45.18m (148-03).
Matt Dudley threw the discus 48.03m (157-07) to finish second and set a personal record.
Errol Nolan lifted himself into the top-five in C-USA in the 100m dash, running a time of 10.58.

The Cougars travel to Orlando, Fla., for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, May 13-16.
