HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis team faces off against University of Louisiana-Monroe (11-3) Saturday, April 10, at the John E. Hoff Courts, with first serve slated for 11 a.m.
The Cougars are 10-6 on the season, having swept their last two opponents, 7-0. This is the sixth consecutive season that the Cougars have posted double-digit wins under head coach John Severance. The squad will look to improve on their impressive 6-1 home record. The all-time record between Houston and UL-Monroe is knotted up at 2-2.
Freshman Bryony Hunter leads the Cougars in singles wins with 11 and looks to improve on her two-match winning streak. Hunter has swept each of her last two opponents in the number one singles match. Her potential match against the Warhawks' top player, junior Claire Clark (13-1), pits two top competitors looking to keep winning streaks alive.
Junior Laura Ring also looks to continue a winning streak, while in doubles action, the tandem of Ring and junior Elena Kazakova will be competing for a third straight victory.
