HOUSTON - Each week during the 2010 season, the University of Houston baseball team will feature one member of its team as the Player of the Week. The goal of having a Player of the Week is to give fans a chance to get to know the Cougars off the field.
This week's featured player is junior pitcher Taylor Hammack. The Angleton, Texas native is second on the team in innings pitched with 30.1. He posts a 3.56 ERA and has 24 strikeouts. Hammack made the start against San Francisco earlier this season, going five innings, allowing three runs with five strikeouts. In addition, he has made 12 appearances on the mound, including two against Rice this past weekend.
