HOUSTON - On March 14, the University of Houston would like to invite you and your Little Leaguers to attend the "Little League International Day." The event will be held at the Cougar Softball Stadium at noon, when the Cougars take on their Conference USA rivals the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss.
"On behalf of Little League International, I urge you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity," softball manager Sara Thompson said.
In order to promote Little League Softball, as well as the college softball experience, Little League International has worked with various colleges and universities resulting in these institutions providing a "Little League International Day" at the collegiate level. It is on this day that young athletes of all ages will get to experience the game of softball at its finest. They will have the complete game experience from the warm up to the game-ending play.
A "Little League International Day" is designed to promote what participating in Little League Softball can potentially lead to. It will also provide a generous amount of exposure to the participating colleges and universities. This event could lead to an on-going relationship between the local collegiate programs and their surrounding Little Leagues.
The Little League players, coaches and parents may attend the game at a reduced rate of $3. Little League players should wear their uniform shirt with the Little League Official patch. Tickets must be purchased in advance. To purchase tickets for your team or league, call Ahsaki at 713-743-3995 or click HERE.
On Game-Day: - Little League players have the chance to win signed posters, t-shirts and prizes. - After the game, the Little League players will be permitted on to the field so that they can interact with the Cougar softball players. Little Leaguers can ask the college players questions directly and receive autographs. (This session will be limited to approximately 30 to 45 minutes.)
