The Cougars will look to improve on their 2-1 mark in Conference USA action after Houston won the final two games of the series against UCF last weekend, including a 20-3 win on Sunday. Zak Presley leads the team in batting average with a .385 mark and is also one of seven Cougars to have at least 10 RBIs.
The Owls are 14-12 on the season, after defeating Lamar, 7-2, Tuesday night in Beaumont, Texas. They opened league play last weekend against Memphis, going 1-2. The Tigers took the first two games of the series, with the Owls winning the final game to get into the win column in league play. Michael Fuda paces the team with a .382 batting average and Boogie Anagnostou has posted a team-low 4.24 ERA in seven appearances.
