Both the men's and women's squads look to improve on their third-place performances from last year against tough returning opponents Rice, Houston Baptist, Texas, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Sam Houston State, Texas Pan-American and Michigan. New to the field this year will be Baylor, Texas Southern, St. John's, UT-San Antonio and Huston Tillotson.
Whitney Harris will be defending her 200m crown from last year's meet. The Cougars will also look to continue their success from the TSU Relays this past weekend. Both the men's and women's sprint medleys took their first place finishes in to this upcoming meet. Along with those teams, Bryan Brown and Derek Schutz took their top-two finishes in the pole vault, and Karley King brings with her the first place mark in pole vault. Jason Perez hopes to better his first-place time of 51.89 in the 400m hurdles, and Brittani Williams will try to better her first-place distance in the javelin throw.
