Missouri Sweeps Houston Tennis

HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Missouri Saturday to conclude a nine-match road trip for the team.
Missouri swept the doubles point, winning all three matches to take a 1-0 lead, which the Tigers continued into singles play.
Freshman Bryony Hunter was defeated in the No. 1 singles match by Kaitlyn Richie, 7-6, 6-4, while junior Laura Ring lost to Jamie Mera, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot.
Mallory Weber defeated junior Joanna Kacprzyk, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot, and Maria Christensen beat junior Elena Kazakova, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 4 match.
The Cougars also fell at the No. 5 and 6 spots, as freshman Maja Kazimieruk lost to Andrea Lewis, 6-4, 6-0, and senior Neila Starratt dropped a hard fought contest to Maureen Modesto, 6-4, 4-6, (10-4).
UP NEXT
After playing a season-high nine-match road trip, the Cougars will conclude the season with four of the remaining five matches at home on John E. Hoff Courts. Houston face the Prairie View A&M Panthers Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. Houston has never lost a match to the Panthers, winning all four times the teams have competed by a combined score of 24-0.
