HOUSTON - Each week during the 2010 season, the University of Houston baseball team will feature one member of its team as the Player of the Week. The goal of having a Player of the Week is to give fans a chance to get to know the Cougars off the field.
This week's featured player is sophomore pitcher Michael Goodnight. The Houston native was named to the 2009 Conference USA All-Freshman Team. He finished his freshman campaign with a 4.43 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 65 innings. Goodnight registered career-highs in innings (8.1) and strikeouts (10) in a 4-1 win over UAB on May 21, 2009.
