Softball to Host Winter High School Camp Indoors

*The slapping clinic time has changed from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. to 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
*The pitching clinic time has changed from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. to 2- 4 p.m.
HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball coaching staff announced the relocation of their winter high school camp Thursday morning. Originally scheduled to take place on the Cougar Softball Field, the camp has been moved to inside the Athletics/Alumni Center located adjacent to the stadium.
The camp will be held Saturday and Sunday and consists of three clinics that focus on the advanced fundamentals of hitting, slapping and pitching.
High School Hitting Clinic
Date: January 9-10, 2010
Time: 9 - 11 a.m.
Price: $80
Description: Campers will learn advanced skills of hitting in addition to learning the drills and fundamentals that Division I student-athletes perform on a daily basis.
High School Slapping Clinic
Date: January 9-10, 2010
Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Price: $80
Description: This clinic will focus on teaching the proper advanced fundamentals of slap hitting including drop bunting, soft slapping and power slapping. They will also learn the drills and fundamentals that Division I student-athletes perform on a daily basis.
High School Pitching Clinic
Date: January 9-10, 2010
Time: 2 - 4 p.m.
Price: $80
Description: This clinic will focus on teaching the proper advanced fundamentals of pitching, which includes learning the drop ball, rise ball, curve ball, screw ball and change up in addition to learning the proper mechanics of the fastball. This clinic will give athletes a chance to experience the drills and fundamentals of a Division I student-athlete.
