HOUSTON - Each week during the 2010 season, the University of Houston baseball team will feature one member of its team as the Player of the Week. The goal of having a Player of the Week is to give fans a chance to get to know the Cougars off the field.
This week's featured player is junior closer Chase Dempsay. The Baytown, Texas, native finished his sophomore season with a 4-0 record and two saves. He pitched 45 innings with 39 strikeouts. In addition to his performance on the mound, Dempsay also saw action in the outfield, turning in a .275 batting average, including 15 doubles, two triples and a home run.
