Coaches' Show Debuts Next Month

HOUSTON --- The University of Houston Athletics Department in conjunction with its multi-media rights partner, ISP Sports, announced on Friday that Cougar head football coach Kevin Sumlin will debut his weekly radio show, The Pulse with Kevin Sumlin, on September 2. The show is presented by the Houston General Office of New York Life.
"The Agents and Management Team of the New York Life Insurance Company are not only proud partners of the University of Houston and the Bauer School of Business," said Brad Willson, Managing Partner of Houston G.O., New York Life Insurance Policy," but also big fans and supporters of the exceptional athletic programs, especially Coach Sumlin and Cougar Football.
"As a former high school coach, it's an exciting opportunity to sponsor our local team and Coach Sumlin's radio show. The `Pulse of the Pride' is alive, and we are excited for the new season. Go Coogs!"
Mike Kohler, General Manager of the Houston ISP Sports Network, also emphasized the excitement of the show's new format.
"We are excited about taking Coach Sumlin's live show on the road this season to new locations on and off campus," Kohler added. "We feel this a great way to grow our fan base."
The weekly show from 7-8 pm, which will be held every Wednesday throughout the football season, will originate from three different restaurants in five different locations and will be broadcast on the Cougars' flagship station, 790 The Sports Animal. The "Voice of the Cougars" Tom Franklin will be the host of the hour-long show.
Cougar fans can enjoy the show and the camaraderie at Chili's Too on the UH campus, as well as Bubba's Sports Bar & Grill at 6225 Washington Ave, and three different Ragin Cajun restaurants: Sugar Land, Richmond Ave., and Westheimer.
