Cougar Tennis Set to Host Sam Houston State on Wednesday

After winning a pair of matches over the weekend, including their Conference USA opener over Southern Miss on Sunday, the University of Houston tennis team is back in action at home on Wednesday as it entertains Sam Houston State in a 2 p.m. match at John E. Hoff Courts.
The Cougars are off to a 10-1 start this season and have won eight straight matches entering this week, including their first two this spring at John E. Hoff Courts.
Sophomore Joanna Kacprzyk has emerged as a solid No.1 player for the Cougars in here second season in the program, collecting an 8-2 record at the a top singles spot.
In addition Kacprzyk, UH has gotten outstanding contributions from senior Vicky Simpson and freshman Alix Young who have each put together 9-1 records this spring. Neila Starratt has also be solid, putting together a 6-1 singles record.
Wednesday's match is the first of four straight at home for the Cougars as they welcome Memphis to Houston on Friday followed by a visit from Tulane on Sunday.
