Softball Announces Winter Camp Schedule Change

HOUSTON - The University of Houston softball coaching staff announced a schedule change to the Winter General Skills Camp Wednesday afternoon. The workshop will be moved from Dec. 5-6 to Jan. 2-3 due to low registration and weather conditions.
The sessions are offered to girls ranging in age from 8-14 and focus on advanced fundamentals of hitting, slap hitting and pitching.

General Skills Hitting Clinic
Date: Jan. 2-3, 2009
Time: 9 - 11 a.m.
Price: $80
Description: Campers will learn advanced skills of hitting in addition to the drills and fundamentals that Division I college athletes perform on a daily basis.
General Skills Slapping Clinic
Date: Jan. 2-3, 2009
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Price: $80
Description: This clinic will focus on teaching the proper advanced fundamentals of slap hitting including drop bunting, soft slapping and power slapping. They will learn the drills and fundamentals that Division I college athletes perform on a daily basis.
General Skills Pitching Clinic
Date: Jan. 2-3, 2009
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Price: $80
Description: This clinic will focus on teaching the proper advanced fundamentals of pitching, which includes learning the drop ball, rise ball, curve ball, screw ball and change up in addition to learning the proper mechanics of the fastball. This clinic will give athletes a chance to experience the drills and fundamentals of a Division I athlete.
*Note that at least 10 campers must register for each session or it will be cancelled.
