Football Promotions Planned for Saturday's Homecoming Game

University Homecoming Schedule of Events
HOUSTON - Plenty of fun and excitement will surround Robertson Stadium this weekend as the University of Houston football team prepares for its annual Homecoming game.
The Cougars play host to Conference USA-rival SMU at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium. This will be the 64th season that the Cougars have celebrated their Homecoming game.
LIVE COUGAR AT HOMECOMING
For the first time in a decade, a live cougar will be a part of the Homecoming celebration. The cougar, which will be housed in a display trailer, will be the featured attraction in the annual Homecoming parade.
Officials from the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge graciously provided the cougar for the parade.
After riding through the parade route, the cougar's trailer will be set up outside Gate 11 on the east (Cullen Boulevard) side of Robertson Stadium. Fans are invited to come by and see the cougar and take pictures as it rests in its trailer.
HOMECOMING PARADE
The annual Homecoming parade, featuring student-decorated golf carts, floats, bands and a live cougar, begins near the intersection of Cullen Boulevard and Wheeler Street and will start around 3 p.m., Saturday. The parade will head east on Cullen Boulevard and move past Robertson Stadium before taking a left onto Holman Street.
After taking a left off Holman Street into the stadium parking lot, the parade will move closer to the stadium and work its around the facility way before ending near the pavilion area on the Scott Street side of Robertson Stadium.
AT HALFTIME
During halftime presentations, the Homecoming court will be announced with President/Chancellor Dr. Renu Khator crowning the King and Queen.
In addition, players, coaches and staff from the 1999 Cougar Football team will be recognized. That squad finished the season 7-4 with wins in its final three games, including a 20-7 thumping at LSU.
COUGAR FUN ZONE
For young fans, the Cougar Fun Zone is a great chance to play games and visit with current Cougar student-athletes. The Cougar Fun Zone is located in Tailgate Village near Gate 7 on the Scott Street side of Robertson Stadium.
Players from the Houston men's and women's basketball teams will be in the Fun Zone, playing games with young fans and signing autographs. Players from the Cougar Softball program will be helping in face painting booths.
ATHLETICS TICKET OFFICE INFORMATION
The Athletics Ticket Office will be open from 10 a.m., to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, in its first-floor office at the Athletics/Alumni Center. Officials will sell tickets at Gate 4 and Gate 11 at Robertson Stadium, beginning at 4 p.m.
The will call window is located between Gate 9 and Gate 10 at Robertson Stadium.
