Softball Ranked 13th in USA Today/NFCA Preseason Poll

Starkville, Miss.-- The University of Houston softball team received 285 points to rank 13th in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Preseason Poll as announced on Tuesday.
The poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference.
This is the first time in program history that the Cougars were ranked in the Top 25 before the season begins.
Last season, Houston was ranked the majority of the season with the final ranking of 13th after losing to Louisiana-Lafayette in the NCAA Super Regional.
The Cougars finished the 2008 season 54-11.
Houston will travel to Cathedral City, Calif. Feb. 6 to participate in the Cathedral City Kickoff, where they open with No. 17 California Feb. 6 at 12 p.m.
