Football to Appear on Television Four Times in 2008

HOUSTON - The University of Houston football team will compete in front of a television audience at least four times during the 2008 season, the Conference USA office announced Thursday morning.
This marks the 19th consecutive season that the Cougars will appear at least once on television. It also is the fifth straight year that UH will be on television at least three times in a season.
The Cougars will be showcased on CBS College Sports National three times with the first game being played at 2:30 p.m., Sept. 13 against Air Force on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium. UH also faces C-USA rival East Carolina at 2:30 p.m. (CDT), Sept. 27, in Greenville, N.C.
The Cougars also will play a pair of non-Saturday games on television, meeting C-USA rival UAB on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m., on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.
Later that month, UH squares off at C-USA rival Marshall at 7 p.m. (CDT), on Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Huntington, W.Va. That game is scheduled to be televised by ESPN2
The C-USA Championship Game, pitting the West Division champion against the East Division champion, will air on Dec. 6, on ESPN or ESPN2 at a site to be determined.
All six bowl games with C-USA tie-ins also will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or the NFL Network.
Additional Houston football television exposures remain a possibility and will be released once they are finalized.
The Cougars open their season at 6 p.m., Aug. 30, 2008, when they play host to Southern on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.
The 2008 season marks the fourth year of C-USA's partnership with CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV). In 2005, C-USA signed a six-year initial term that includes significant national and regional exposure for football, men's and women's basketball and other C-USA sports. CBS College Sports is widely available on cable systems across the country and via satellite on DirecTV channel 613 (Premier Package and Sports Pack) and Dish Network Channel 152 (America's Top 200 Package).
