HOUSTON - University of Houston senior outfielder Bryan Tully was honored Monday as the Conference USA Co-Hitter of the Week.
It was the first weekly award for the Houston native.
In four games last week, Tully batted .625 (10-for-16) to help lead the Cougars to a non-conference road win over UTSA and three straight wins over league rival Marshall.
He recorded his first two triples of the season with a pair of doubles and drove in nine runs, including one in each outing.
The Alief Taylor High product stole four bases and was hit by two pitches, moving into second place in UH career history in the latter category.
Tully tied his career high with four hits on Saturday against Marshall during Senior Day and collected the win in relief from the mound, tossing three innings.
Tully and his Cougar teammates return to action at 9 a.m., Wednesday, when they face No. 5 seed East Carolina during the first day of the 2008 Entergy C-USA Championship hosted by Tulane at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
