HOUSTON - Fresh off a Conference USA sweep of No. 25 UCF last weekend, the University of Houston baseball team broke into the Top 25 of a national poll on Monday.
The Cougars entered the recent Collegiate Baseball magazine poll at No. 19. It was the first time since April 23, 2006, that the Cougars were ranked during the regular season.
With their sweep of the Knights last weekend, the Cougars extended their winning streak over nationally ranked opponents to five straight games. It was the first time since late in the 2002 season that the Cougars reeled off a similar streak.
The Cougars return to action at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, as they play host to No. 12 Texas A&M at Cougar Field. Fans can hear the game live on UHCougars.com with Jeremy Branham calling the play-by-play action and former UH letterman Pat Cauley providing color analysis.
