Cougar Tennis Wraps Up Road Slate With Trip To Oklahoma

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston women's tennis team will conclude the road portion of its 2008 schedule, by traveling to Tulsa, Okla., to square off against Oral Roberts and Tulsa on Friday, April 4, and North Texas on Saturday, April 5.
The Cougars (11-8, 0-2 Conference USA) last played on March 22, dropping a 5-2 decision to #58 South Alabama in Louisville, Ky.
Oral Roberts is 5-6 on the season but has won five consecutive since starting the season 0-6. In their streak the Golden Eagles have knocked off UTEP, IUPUI, Missouri-Kansas City, Southern Utah and Centenary. Friday's match is the first-ever encounter between the Cougars and Golden Eagles.
Later in the afternoon, the Cougars will square off against Conference USA foe Tulsa, who is ranked #50 and boast a record of 14-5 after knocking off #52 South Alabama, 5-2, last week. The Cougars stand at 3-7 overall against Tulsa, even though in the last meeting in 2006, Houston prevailed, 4-3, at home.
UH wraps up the road swing through the Sooner State by taking on North Texas on Saturday in Tulsa. The Eagles are 10-7 on the season, having knocked off Louisiana-Monroe, 5-2, back on March 28. Houston stands at 9-3 all-time against UNT.
Houston returns home for its final round of matches, facing Tarleton State, Prairie View A&M and Southern all on Saturday, April 12. The Cougars play host to the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championships on April 17-20 at the John E. Hoff Courts.
